meeting my daughter and her family at Amelia Island Plantation for a few days this Saturday;  any fishing in the surf this time of year?  what should I throw, besides my trusty SS minnow?  Also any good places around to get some mullet dip or a good fish sandwich?  Thanx. Paul

Paul,

This is a good time of year for the surf.  You need to head to the south end of the island.  Park at the lot right by the Nassau Sound bridge and then walk to the point/jetty on the south end of Amelia (about .75 miles).  The rougher the water the better.  You want to cast jigs or mirrolure-type plugs (52m) into the turbulence.  There are good trout, reds, blues, and flounder to be caught off the beach this time of  year.  SS Minnow probably won't do you a whole lot of good there.

Can't really help out too much with the eating.  Most of the food on Amelia is just way overpriced.
