Anyone know of a reasonable company to ship a kayak with that won't break the bank or the kayak. It would be coming from Ct. to Fl. Thanks for any input.

I've been looking at buying a kayak off Ebay. I want a Malibu Mini-X, but the nearest dealer is in Ft. Myers. Shipping from California is going to be $49 as long as I pick it up at the hub. Seems like most of the online kayak retailers use the same shipping company.  http://www.forwardair.com/

Thanks Nathan,

I got a quote from them for about $200, but the yak is 11.5' not 10 like the mini X. I think the regular shippers get large discounts depending on their volume.

Someone in Palm Coast area has a used Mini X for sale for $400 I believe. I know it's a bit of a drive for you though. It's on the Jaxkayakfishing site in classifieds.

I just made an offer and won one on Ebay. $49 shipping is cheaper than driving to Ft. Myers. Now I just have to decide between sand and hunter green for the color.

I like both colors, sand would probably not be as hot in the sun though.

I have both colors right now. My Bimini is sand colored and my Scrambler XT is OD green. Just couldn't decide which one camo's better for duck hunting. Ended up going with sand. More visible if I decide to use it off the beach and my camouflage shroud I use when duck hunting will darken it up some.
