None for me this weekend. I have to drive to WPB and pick up an SUV that we just bought today. That killed my morning plans  for tomorrow.

Sitting here trying to decide if I should head out and work the basin/ICW area tonight or head down to the goon tomorrow.
I should have hauled ass down to Sebastian and pitched a tent for the weekend at Long Point.
I just haven't had any decent fishing action in a long time. I'm tired of this dirty/muddy Flagler water. No grass flats and no tailers. Reds don't tail here. Ain't that a bitch?
Just mud and oysters. No grass flats anywhere. Have to go to the goon for that.
Here's one I picked up on the goon this past Tuesday...

Oh well, I'll figure out something. Whatever I do, I'm hitting it HARD this weekend.
Think I'll start with some snookin tonight.
I'll report back and let ya know what happens.
Ya'll be cool...
Nicks6 out.

I'll be hitting it down around Homosassa in the morning.  I haven't seen the water in a month and I need a fix bad.

Kurt, nice red. Did you try any of the flood tides up my way in the past few months. It's about the only tails you'll see around here. Your boat should troll through the grass well. One coming up soon but I've got a feeling it won't draw many fish into the grass with the cooler weather and lack of crabs and snails in the grass.

It seems that the past 2 months HAS BEEN one long flood tide over here. Friggin high water that just won't drop. I hate high water.

Well, I went out around midnight and came back empty handed. Tons of shrimp in the ICW last night. Mullet too. I fished for 4 hours and could only draw one strike.
That's right, 4 hours and one friggin strike. Felt like a decent snook  but it pulled off.
Hardly anyone else out on the water last night. The Moody ramp had only 2 trailers. Where I launched, there were none.
I guess I'm not the only one that hates a full moon.

Nice RED!!!!

We just came in off the water at Oak Hill....stayed at a place called Mosquito Lagoon Fish Camp.  Owned by a local guide.  One side is a one bedroom, the other a two.  Right on the water with a dock to tie up your boat.  Extremely cool.

Wife and I are celebrating our 21st...so a little fishing in the a.m. and shopping later with dinner at a place she has all planned...then back to the camp so I can chase her around for a couple hours!!!

Found a pile of reds tailing in the grass off Hong Kong island...threw them everything in the box including live shrimp but they wouldn't touch a thing.  They were't the least bit bashful or spooked...hit em in the head a couple of times...didn't phase em.

Fella across from us hooked into about a 100 lb. tarpon and all hell broke loose....it was a good fight including tailing, running and jumping...then he got off.  I was told it was the third tarpon today right off River Breeze launch site.

Plan to get out on Tuesday. Weather is looking like it should be pretty good. Probably will run out of Boca Inlet, get some livies, and try for some dolphin, sailfish, and kings.

I'll be fishing a couple of nights this week and prob try the weekend.  High winds are threating the kayak market in open water and the bite is slow in the creeks.  I've heard good things about the inlet, but i'm a little spooked about launching in open water with 25 mph winds.  That kind of chop sucks.

I was all set to trip on down to the goon sunday until I awoke to find it a tad too breezy for comfort.
So, I stuck to my local waters...again...and had a somewhat uneventful morning...again. I had 3 hits all morning. The first unidentified fish missed on a topwater. I eventually stuck 2 twin small snook back to back. Couldn't make anything happen after that.

Don't look now Kurt but, there is a whopper boiling right behind you!!

Nice fish. I haven't been out in a while myself, either too windy or something else going on. This week end is no better I will probably have to work.
